Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Osamu Inoue, hereafter "our company") will expand the lineup of the coated carbide grade "AC1135U" for small lathes and autolathes with the FX, FY and FYS chipbreakers and sales will begin in July 2026. These additions will contribute to the improved roundness and high-quality finished surfaces in the machining of small precision parts, where ever-increasing precision is required.

Launched in 2025, the coated carbide grade "AC1135U" for small lathes and autolathes, has been highly evaluated by many customers in the machining of small precision parts used in automobiles, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, medical devices and electronic components. In particular, its adoption has been expanding as a product that contributes to improved dimensional stability and machined surface quality.

In recent years, as components continue to become smaller and more sophisticated, the demand for higher roundness and superior machined surface quality in small parts production has increased more than ever before. To meet these high-precision machining needs, we will add the FX, FY and FYS chipbreakers, which deliver low-resistance machining due to their superior edge sharpness, to the coated carbide grade "AC1135U" lineup for small lathes and autolathes. With the expanded lineup of these new chipbreakers, more stable dimensional accuracy and improved surface quality can be achieved.

We will continue to strengthen our technological capabilities and provide optimal solutions for our customers.
