Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Osamu Inoue, hereafter "our company") has expanded the insert grades to cover various work materials for the high-efficiency high-feed roughing cutter "SEC-Sumi Dual Mill DMSW Type", as of late October 2021.

In recent years, improved machine tool performance has led to demands for higher productivity in fields including automobiles, aircraft, shipbuilding, industrial machines, molds and so on, with increased demand for tools specialised for high-efficiency machining.

To respond to these needs, our company launched the "SEC-Sumi Dual Mill DMSW Type" on June 2021; we now offer significantly improved efficiency and reduced machining costs through the expansion of the ACP2000/ACP3000 grades, suited for steel machining, and the ACK2000/ACK3000 grades, suited for cast iron.

1. Features

ACP2000
For high-speed machining of steel. Stable long tool life in high-speed machining is realised by adopting a tough carbide substrate and a new coating with excellent thermal crack resistance.

ACP3000
Our 1st recommended grade for milling steel. Carbide substrate with excellent thermal crack resistance, plus a new coating with excellent wear resistance and chipping resistance, realises stable long tool life over a wide range of cutting conditions.

ACK2000
For high-speed cast iron milling. Stable long tool life in high-speed machining is realised by adopting a tough carbide substrate and a new coating with excellent thermal resistance.

ACK3000
Our 1st recommended grade for milling cast iron. Adopts a high thermal conductivity carbide substrate and a new coating with excellent wear resistance and chipping resistance, realizing stable long tool life over a wide range of cast iron machining operations.
