Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Osamu Inoue, hereafter "our company") has developed the AURORA Coat drill for non-ferrous metal machining MULTIDRILL MDA Type for sale as of November 2022.

In drilling aluminum alloys used in automotive and aerospace components, in addition to the higher efficiency required from the perspective of improved productivity, demands for hole positioning accuracy are likewise increasing as parts become more precise.

Our company has developed the MULTIDRILL MDA Type, with higher tool rigidity and centring capabilities as compared to conventional tools, as well as a new DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating, realising stable drilling in high-efficiency conditions.
