Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Osamu Inoue, hereafter referred to as "our company") has developed and launched a versatile, high-precision shoulder milling cutter SEC-WaveMill™ WEZ series for multi-tasking machines, from July 2020.
In recent years, the stringency of the dimensional tolerance and machining quality required in the machining sector has increased, heightening the demand for improvements in shoulder accuracy and machined surface roughness for cutting tools.
In response to those needs, our company launched the "SEC-WaveMill™ WEZ series" in April 2019. As the use of multi-tasking machines become more popular, we have expanded the WEZ series with dedicated tools that cope with the higher precision, stability and cost effectiveness associated with use of multi-tasking machines. Utilizing a short shank, that supports a variety of collets, coupled with high-precision inserts with sharp cutting edges to achieve excellent shoulder accuracy and finished surface quality, even when use on low-rigidity multi-tasking machines. This makes it possible to support a variety of machining applications in field such as automobiles, aerospace, shipbuilding, and industrial machinery.
