Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Osamu Inoue, hereafter "our company") has expanded the holder range for Indexable Drill SEC-MULTIDRILL SMD Type and developed the Indexable Head MSL Type, launched for sale as of April 2021.

In recent years, there is an increasing demand for medium and large diameter indexable head type drills used in machining operations, in order to reduce tool costs and enable easier tool management; as well as the need for improved drilling stability and chip control performance.

To handle various tooling needs, our company has expanded its range of holders combining improved rigidity and chip evacuation, providing even greater stability than conventional tools. In addition, we have also developed the Indexable Head MSL Type, with an emphasis on cutting edge sharpness, to handle drilling of mild steel and stainless steel with poor machinability; thus realising excellent chip evacuation performance and stable machining.
