Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Osaka; President: Osamu Inoue; hereinafter "the Company") will reintroduce three blank insert models previously offered, to the existing line-up for the "SEC-PB Bite SPB Type", an indexable tool holder for high-precision machining on small and automatic lathes. Sales will begin in July 2026.

The "SEC-PB Bite SPB Type" has been highly regarded by many customers for machining small precision parts used in semiconductor inspection equipment, medical devices and electronic components. In particular, adoption of this product is expanding as it has contributed to improved productivity due to its high-rigidity holder design, which enhances dimensional stability and surface finish; as well as its specification that allows a single holder to mount a wide variety of inserts for operations such as front turning, back turning, grooving, cut-off and threading.

In recent years, as product shapes have become more complex, demand has grown for customer-specific optimization of cutting edge geometries, and for shorter edge grinding duration. To meet these needs, we will reintroduce the blank inserts previously sold, back into the line-up. The blank inserts are designed to facilitate customers' own edge grinding, offering flexibility for complex shapes and improving process efficiency.

We will continue to meet a wide range of machining needs and contribute to improving customers' productivity.
