Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Osamu Inoue, hereafter "our company") has developed the deep shoulder milling cutter "SEC-WaveMill™ WEZR Type". Sales will be launched in late October 2021.
In recent years, there has been a growing need for highly efficient machining to reduce machining time in order to improve productivity in the manufacturing field.
In response to these needs, our company has developed the SEC-WaveMill™ WEZR Type, which uses SEC-WaveMill™ WEZ Type inserts (available since 2019) arranged in a multi-stepped configuration to perform deep shoulder milling. The SEC-WaveMill™ WEZR Type, possesses superb chatter resistance due to the combination of sharp-edged inserts and irregular-pitched body, enabling high-efficiency milling at previously impossible depths of cut. In addition, by suppressing chatter and vibration, the tool can be used on small machine tools and parts, making it possible to handle machining in various industries.
