Dresser Blank What’s SUMICRYSTAL PD/PDX?

SUMICRYSTAL PD and PDX are synthetic diamond single crystals processed into thin prism shapes for use as dresser blanks. Their stable performance and long tool life improve dressing precision.

Compared with bulky shaped natural diamond, improves holding power and prevents falling out.
Consistent cross section prevents deterioration.
Uniform crystal orientation promotes stable tool life.

SUMICRYSTAL PD

(110) face provides high abrasive resistance even in <111> direction.

SUMICRYSTAL PD-T

You can easily identify <110> direction which provides higher abrasive resistance than <110> direction.

SUMICRYSTAL PDX

(211) face provides higher abrasive resistance than (110) face and easy to identify abrasive resistance direction.

In addition to the standard items listed above, “KK Type” with both ends laser-cut is available. Specify by adding “K” to the end of cat. No..

Since PD0220 and PD0440 are originally both ends laser-cut type, there is no PD0220KK or PD0420KK.

What are the advantages over natural diamonds?

The aspect ratio can be made larger than that of natural diamonds, improving retention and preventing diamonds from falling off. There is no change in cross-sectional area, preventing performance degradation during use. Quality is stable with little variation. Natural diamonds do not have clear ridges, making it difficult to determine the surface orientation, but with synthetic diamonds, the surface orientation and abrasion resistance direction of the end surface can be accurately determined.
